Lata Kijang, August 2008
For some time already, Khong and I had been planning a trip to Lata Kijang. This tall, remote fall is located in Negeri Sembilan. I had received reports through the Waterfalls of Malaysia website, that the access road had been upgraded, and that shelters had been built near the fall.

Recently I had met Joe, an eager waterfall explorer, who had never visited Lata Kijang. That was an extra reason to go.

After a breakfast of curry mee, we went on our way and arrived at the waterfall around 10:30. In general the access road was in good condition, a few stretches were still being upgraded. The bridges were ok. But a 4WD is still advisable.

We were able to drive until the end of the road. From here a cemented staircase leads down in to the ravine, where a few shelters and toilets have been built.

The waterfall was impressive. We crossed the stream and scrambled up the slippery rocks to a small pool, where we took a refreshing, but cool, water massage.

We stayed for about 1.5 hour and then drove back, visiting the small Orang Asli Kg London on our way.

After lunch in Titi (wild boar curry...yummie) we drove back the long way to KL.

A nice trip

This really puts the waterfall in perspective. It is a pretty impressive tumble.
