Actually it did not really end, but a new cycle started on that date. So 21-12-2012 can be seen as Mayan New Year&#8217;s Eve. The <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mesoamerican_Long_Count_calendar#Long_Count_periods\">next one<\/a> will be on 26-3-2407.<\/p>\n<p>Quite a few people expected that the world would end on this day. Sad. Suddenly <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Nibiru_cataclysm\">Nibiru<\/a> would show up behind the moon and destroy Earth, or the magnetic field of Earth would suddenly reverse, etc.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a picture of the Sun, apparently taken just after &#8220;Doomsday&#8221;. It looks like the Sun is winking&#8230;:-). It will reach a maximum in its 11-year sunspot cycle, next year. It is becoming clear now that this maximum will be very low. Here is a picture updated until December 2012.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/stuif.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/ssn_predict_l.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"ssn_predict_l\" src=\"https:\/\/stuif.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/ssn_predict_l.gif\" width=\"368\" height=\"277\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The expected maximum of around 72 will be the lowest since 1906. Nevertheless <a href=\"http:\/\/www.2012hoax.org\/michio-kaku\">Michio Kaku <\/a>, the physicist &#8220;who would kill his mother to get publicity&#8221; (quote by me, LOL) is warning about solar storms that might create havoc on earth.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Mayan Long Count calendar ended on 21-12-2012.
