Summer in Europe, June/July 2010
Usually I visit the Netherlands in spring and in autumn. This time I arrived in June and stayed for six weeks, a bit longer than usual. Summertime!
It was a visit full of variety. I met many friends and family members, went on a walking trip with my friend Paul and I even found time to visit my UK friends Cathy and Neil in Essex.

A hectic visit as well. I was rather exhausted when I came back to my second home..:-)
But I do not complain. I realise that I am enjoying the best of two worlds, as my friends often say.

Here is a pictorial report. This time I have added extra text to many of the pictures. They are marked with a *.

Enjoy this report as I have enjoyed my stay!

Deze relieken bevinden zich in de 'Peperbus', ofwel de Onze Lieve Vrouwekerk in Zwolle.

Do you find such creature in Holland? I was under the impression that the birds survive on beers alone.

That is really a nice compliment, coming from an expert like you...:-)

It is. Originally it was the schoolmaster's house, connected to the village school (not visible in the picture). Built around 1870 and beautifully renovated by Neil.

How to describe? A bit like sashimi, but more salty
